EVIDENCE
This piece of FBI evidence was once a burning cross in the midnight sky. Just before dawn, June 21, 1990, Russ and Laura Jones looked out to see this chilling light on their front lawn. New to the middle-class suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota, the Joneses and their 3 young children never expected this wrenching not welcome sign.
R.A.V, a 17-year-old avowed skinhead, was found guilty in the case that went to the U.S. Supreme Court. During the trial, he could be seen in the neighborhood sporting his "Proud To Be An American" T-shirt. Lawyers claimed as defense his difficult childhood.
Some experts believe that children, who mature without benefit of love and security, may develop a deeply rooted anger that can turn inward to become self-hatred. It is then a small step from hating self to hating others.
